Main museums in Barcelona

Like any self-respecting city, Barcelona has numerous museums of all kinds, from the great classics of art to the most bizarre, as well as scientific and sports museums. Many of them are housed in unique buildings that are worth a visit in themselves. Others will appeal to you because of their content.

BARCELONA ART MUSEUM

The MNAC (Museu Nacional d’Art Contemporani) is housed in a magnificent palace built for the 1929 International Exhibition on the slopes of Montjuïc. It exhibits the best collection of Romanesque mural painting in the world, representative works of Catalan modernism, as well as Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance art.
