A few weeks ago we talked about the gastronomic experiences in the Eixample district, near Ako Suite, today we continue with our recommendations in the same district, but we will move a few streets further up, towards the mountains, specifically in the Acacia Suite area, just 50 metres from the Hospital Clínic.
La Capricciosa. Samu opened the first restaurant ‘La Capricciosa’ in September 2011 on Calle Viladomat and, to date, there are four establishments located in the same neighbourhood. His brand is characterised by offering an original and varied selection of Italian recipes in pastas, pizzas, meats, salads, fish and desserts. It has a good quality/price ratio and a cosy space. La taverna del Clinic. When the Simoes brothers founded it in 2006, La Taverna del Clínic was a small establishment located next to the hospital where they offered quality products in the form of tapas and creative dishes. In 10 years it has become a benchmark in the city in haute cuisine with the best quality produce, working with small suppliers who select their star products in detail: vegetables, fish, truffles and mushrooms. O’Tubo Restaurant. Since 1890 some people have been visiting this Galician restaurant to enjoy its top-quality meat and fish, home-cooked in-house. Its menu includes octopus a’feira with cachelos, empanada or lacón con grelos (pork shoulder with turnip tops), cold meats such as Iberian cured ham, loin of pork or cecina (cured beef jerky).
