Tibidabo is the highest peak of the mountain of Collserola with 512 meters tall. It’s famous for its views over the city and its natural areas, which are used for recreational purposes.
At the top you can find many buildings. The greatest is “Templo Expiatorio del Sagrado Corazón”, which reminds the Basilic of the Sacré Coeur in Montmartre. It was built between 1902 and 1961 by the architect Enric Sagnier i Villavecchia.
We also find “el Parque de atracciones Tibidabo”, a thematic amusement park since 1899. It was the first amusement park of Spain and the second of Europe.
The tower of Collserola is a modern telecommunications antenna with 268 meters tall. It was designed by Norman Foster and inaugurated in 1992 for the Olympic Games of Barcelona 1992.
